The human remains were found in a wooded area near the A82 road
Police are looking to establish the identity of human remains, found near Crianlarich.
The discovery was made in the early hours of Saturday by a man out walking in a wooded area near the A82 between Crianlarich and Tyndrum.
Central Scotland Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious and a post-mortem examination would be carried out.
The force said the remains were thought to be male.
However, a spokeswoman said his identity would not be confirmed until forensic tests were carried out.
She added: "We are following a line of inquiry in relation to the man's identity but this will only be confirmed once we have received the results of these tests."
