Dundee United manager Peter Houston fined for speeding

Dundee United boss Peter Houston Houston had been commentating on a football match in Perth

Dundee United manager Peter Houston has been fined £200 after he was caught speeding in the city.

The 53-year-old was clocked travelling at 75mph in a 50mph zone on Dundee's Kingsway in December.

Houston, who did not appear in person, entered a guilty plea at the city's Justice of the Peace Court.

The court heard that he had been returning to Dundee after commentating on a match between St Johnstone and Aberdeen in Perth.

Solicitor John Boyle said Houston, from Glasgow, had been tired after working all day and had failed to pay attention to his speed.
