'Suspicious' fire guts Falkirk bungalow

Police have said they are treating a fire that gutted a three-bedroom bungalow in Falkirk as suspicious.

The blaze at the home in Main Street, California, started at about 22:30 on Friday.

It caused thousands of pounds of damage and the property may now have to be demolished.

Detectives said they believed the building - which has been empty for some time - had recently been used by groups of youths as a meeting point.

It took firefighters more than three hours to put the fire out.

Central Scotland Police appealed to anyone with information about the blaze to contact them.
