Man arrested over Stirling pensioner's death

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of an 88-year-old man in Stirling.

John Gillespie was found by a passer-by at an underpass near Lover's Walk in the Riverside area of the city on 19 April.

Mr Gillespie, from Stirling, was taken to hospital, but died six days later.

Central Scotland Police said a 50-year-old man was expected to appear at Stirling Sheriff Court on Friday over the pensioner's death.
