A huge fire at a 19th Century country mansion in Perthshire has left the building "90% destroyed".
The blaze broke out in the roof space of Argaty House, a four-storey building near Doune.
The owner, a demolition expert who was not in the house at the time, raised the alarm at 1545 BST on Saturday.
A fire service spokeswoman said 12 appliances attended at the height of the blaze with two aerial pumps being used to extinguish the flames.
Crews remained in place throughout the night and four appliances remain at the property damping down hotspots.
An investigation into the cause of the fire, which is not thought to be suspicious, is to begin on Sunday.
The Central Scotland Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said they estimated that "90% of the building is totally destroyed by the fire".
She said the couple who lived in the house were outside in the garden, where their two children were playing, when the property's fully automated fire alarm alerted them to the blaze in the roof.
Some parts of the property are thought to date back to the 17th Century.
