Dumfries High School tribute to river death pupil Scott Couper

The head teacher of Dumfries High School has paid tribute to a 15-year-old pupil who died in hospital after being rescued from the River Nith.
Scott Couper, 15, died on Tuesday after getting into trouble in waters near Kirkmahoe on Wednesday, 18 June.
Head teacher Mark Turner described him as an "intelligent, caring, loyal, witty, extremely polite and well-respected member of the Dumfries High School community".
He said he would be "missed greatly".
The teenager was out swimming with friends when he got into trouble.
Emergency services were called out to the riverbank at Carnsalloch Gardens and he was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
Police confirmed on Tuesday that he had died as a result of the incident.
They added that a report would be sent to the procurator fiscal.
