Annan Co-op cigarette haul worth £15,000

Police say the value of cigarettes stolen from a south of Scotland supermarket is estimated at between £10,000 and £15,000.

Thieves smashed their way into the Co-op store on Butts Street in Annan at about 02:20 on Monday.

They were in and out of the premises in a matter of minutes with the haul.

An appeal is continuing for witnesses and anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area has been asked to contact the police.
