Multi-vehicle crash closes A75

A crash involving six vehicles, including three HGVs, has closed the A75 through Dumfries and Galloway.

The incident happened at Mouswald Banks, south of Dumfries, at about 08:15.

Police said there did not appear to be any serious injuries but the road would be shut for a "considerable time".

Diversions were being put in place, but motorists have been encouraged to avoid the area if possible and expect delays if travelling nearby.

Police are keen to trace the driver of a small blue car who has since left the scene of the collision.

They would also like to speak to a moped rider who was also seen in the area around the time of the incident.
