Police in Dumfries and Galloway have issued a warning over drugs and "legal highs" as the festival season gets under way in the region.

Officers said there was "no safe limit" to such substances.

They have urged all festival goers in the region or travelling further afield to "stay safe".

It comes with thousands of music fans arriving in the region ahead of the start of the Eden Festival on the Raehills Estate near Beattock.

Overall, more than 250 bands and performing artists are set to appear over three days.

Festival organisers describe the event as "family friendly" and say anyone attending could be subject to a drug and security search.

Anyone refusing such a search will be refused entry to the festival.
