Neknomination driving charge denied by Johnstonebridge man

A 42-year-old man has appeared in court following an alleged Neknomination incident in southern Scotland.

Barry Watson, of Johnstonebridge, pled not guilty to a dangerous driving charge on the U353a road near Sandyholm railway bridge on 2 February.

He is alleged to have carried out a handbrake turn, caused the car to spin repeatedly, consumed alcohol and then accelerated harshly.

A trial has been set for September at Dumfries Sheriff Court.

Neknomination involves filming yourself "necking" a drink, posting a video on social media and then nominating someone else to do the same.
