Funeral of Borders councillor Zandra Elliot held

The funeral has been held in Hawick of the town's former provost who died at the weekend.

Zandra Elliot, 73, collapsed at a meeting of the Hawick Common Good Fund and died at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh on Saturday.

She served as honorary provost three times - and had been a Conservative member of Scottish Borders Council since 2007.

Her funeral was held at the Teviot Parish Church in Hawick.

Two minutes' silence were observed in her memory at Thursday's meeting of Scottish Borders Council - after tributes from Convenor Graham Garvie and Conservative group leader Michelle Ballantyne.
