Plans for a new holiday village in Southerness in Dumfries and Galloway are being earmarked for approval.

The proposals include 125 homes, a range of leisure facilities and a nine-hole golf course.

Developers have identified land between Loaningfoot and Gillfoot Farm Road for the scheme.

They want approval in principle for the leisure village which would also include a cafe, driving range, putting green, bowling green and tennis courts.

Two local community councils have raised objections to the scheme due to the scale of the development and its impact on the community.

However, planning officers are advising approval but with a list of no fewer than 22 conditions attached.
