Dumfries man Peter Wilson in court on murder bid charge

A 37-year-old man has made a brief appearance in a Dumfries court on a charge of attempted murder.

Peter Wilson, from Dumfries, appeared in private on a petition before Sheriff Alistair Carmichael.

He was alleged to have repeatedly struck a woman with a knife at Balmoral Road in the town at the weekend.

No plea or declaration was made and he was remanded in custody.
