Dumfries and Galloway schools closed by heating failures

Two primary schools in Dumfries and Galloway have remained closed after the Christmas holidays due to heating failures.

The sites at Beattock and Wigtown have been shut, affecting about 150 children in total.

Dumfries and Galloway council said both schools were expected to reopen as normal on Tuesday.

Severe flooding in the region last week had prompted concerns some sites would be unable to open after the holidays.
