Selkirk financial adviser admits £158,000 fraud charge

A financial adviser from the Borders has admitted fraudulently obtaining more than £158,000 from a client.

Angela Lauder, 43, of Victoria Crescent, Selkirk, took the money from Friends Provident between May 2008 and October 2010.

She was acting for a husband and wife when she pretended to the company they had signed documents withdrawing money from their investment fund.

Selkirk Sheriff Court was told she paid the funds into her own account.

Sentence was deferred until 16 December for reports.
