Kelso High School site negotiations near completion

Negotiations to purchase land for the construction of a new secondary school in the Borders are nearing completion.

Scottish Borders Council intends to build a new Kelso High School on ground at Angraflat near the local racecourse.

It will have a teaching block, community and sports block and external synthetic and grass sports pitches.

Education chiefs have said the new school plans have gained "pretty resounding" support from parents, pupils and the community.

It is hoped work on the new school could start next year.
