Suspected bug outbreak closes Dumfries Infirmary ward

A ward has been closed at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary due to a suspected outbreak of the norovirus.

NHS Dumfries and Galloway said ward 14 at the hospital had been shut to visitors, new admissions and transfers.

Full infection control measures were expected to be put in place in order to help tackle the outbreak.

Ward 14 is for general rehabilitation and care of the elderly at the Dumfries hospital, which the health board is currently planning to replace.
