Counterfeit alcohol seized at Cairnryan

More than 13,000 litres of counterfeit alcohol - worth about £263,000 in lost duty and taxes - has been seized by HM Revenue and Customs at Cairnryan.

HMRC officers searched a 40ft trailer after it had been stopped by police on arrival from Belfast on a ferry on Thursday night.

The search found 26 pallets of illicit vodka along with a number of counterfeit vodka bottle labels.

Investigations into the seizure are continuing.
