Eaglesfield farm thieves make off with sheep

Police are appealing for information following the latest incident of sheep being stolen from a Scottish farm.

Some 48 sheep, worth about £3,800, were taken from land near Eaglesfield in Dumfries and Galloway.

The incident happened some time between 09:00 on Thursday 12 September and 09:00 on Wednesday 25 September.

Earlier this month police highlighted sheep thefts as a "Scotland-wide" issue costing the industry hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Anyone with information about the latest incident has been asked to come forward as soon as possible.
