Two released without charge after Dumfries armed police operation

A man and a woman have been detained and released following an incident involving armed police in Dumfries.

Police Scotland said it was a planned operation in the Lochside area of the town on Monday evening.

The pair were taken into custody and subsequently released.

A Police Scotland spokesman in Dumfries said: "Investigations into the matter are continuing and the man and woman have been released without charge at this time."
