Woman injured after A710 crash near Whinnyhill

A woman has been taken to hospital following a crash in Dumfries and Galloway.

It happened on the A710 Dumfries to New Abbey Road near to Whinnyhill at about 18:05 hours on Thursday.

Police Scotland said the collision involved a silver BMW. A 24-year-old woman suffered multiple fractures and was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.

Her condition was described as stable. Police have appealed for witnesses.

The road was closed for a time, with diversions in place, while investigations were carried out.
