Multi-vehicle crash closes A75 near Twynholm

A number of people were taken to hospital after a crash on the A75 road near to Twynholm in Kirkcudbrightshire.

The collision, which involved three cars and an articulated lorry, was reported shortly before 15:00.

Police said "several" people had been taken to hospital but their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

The road was closed with diversions in place while the vehicles were recovered. It has since reopened.

Three fire crews were called to the scene, along with an ambulance and air ambulance.

A spokeswoman for the fire service said a HGV lorry, a Land Rover and two other cars were involved in the crash.
