Two in court accused of murdering Kevin MacKay in Ecclefechan

Two men have appeared in court in Dumfries charged with the murder of a 40-year-old man in Ecclefechan.

Andrew Brown, 22, from Ecclefechan, and 20-year-old Dean Melnyk, from Lockerbie, each made a brief appearance in private before Sheriff Kenneth Ross.

It is alleged that they killed Kevin MacKay in Peacock Place, Ecclefechan, last Thursday.

No plea or declaration was made and both men were remanded in custody.
