Peebles school routes studied following 'near miss'
Roads engineers have promised to look at safer access to three Borders primary schools after a "near miss" outside one of them.
Seven hundred people signed a petition launched after the incident involving a mother and child close to Kingsland Primary in Peebles.
A campaign group was formed and carried out a study of the approaches to each of the town's three primary schools.
The findings and the petition have been presented to Scottish Borders Council.
Roads officials agreed to re-evaluate arrangements at both Halyrude and Priorsford.
They will also create a new travel plan for Kingsland Primary.
A report will be submitted to the environment and infrastructure committee around the turn of the year.
