One person dead in three-car crash near Houndslow

One person has died and three others have been injured in a three-car crash in the Scottish Borders.

The accident happened on the A697 near the village of Houndslow at about 15:40.

Two of the casualties were taken to the Borders General Hospital and the third to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

A spokeswoman for the Fire and Rescue Service said: "We are in attendance to an RTC in the borders. We have three casualties and one fatality."
