Bo'ness man James Mitchell in court on Kelso couple death charge

A West Lothian man has appeared in court accused of causing the death of a married couple from the Scottish Borders by dangerous driving.

Derek Peoples, 53, and his 51-year-old wife Avril suffered fatal injuries as a result of a collision on the A697 Greenlaw to Carefraemill in December.

James Mitchell, 48, of Bo'ness, made no plea or declaration when he appeared in private at Selkirk Sheriff Court.

The case was continued for further examination and he was granted bail.
