Man charged with murder of Brian Scott at Dumfries flat

A 40-year-old man has appeared in court in Dumfries on a charge of murder.

Darrin Callander is accused of killing 54-year-old Brian Scott who was found dead in his flat in Gilbert Circle in the town 12 days ago.

Mr Callander appeared in private on petition at Dumfries Sheriff Court and made no plea or declaration. He was remanded in custody.

Mr Scott, who was known as "Tucker", was originally from Stranraer and had lived at the flat for about five years.
