Gavinton jewellery theft van hunted

Police are trying to trace a white transit van following a jewellery theft at a house in the Scottish Borders.

A property on Main Street in Gavinton was broken into on Friday and items valued at about £50,000 taken.

A white van was spotted in the area at about 14:30 and police believe it may have been used in the raid.

Lothian and Borders Police said they would like to hear from anyone who saw the van or may have seen any other suspicious activity.
