Teenager found injured on A7 road in Galashiels

Police have started an investigation after a 16-year-old boy was found injured on a road in Galashiels.

He was spotted on the A7 road through the town at about 06:15 on Saturday and taken to Borders General Hospital.

Officers from Lothian and Borders Police sealed off a section of the road from Greenbank Street to Braw Lads Brae while they examined the scene.

A police spokesman said investigations are continuing to find out how the teenager was injured.

The boy was treated for minor injuries and subsequently released.

Police said the incident was not being treated as suspicious.
