Crook Inn campaign closes in on target
Campaigners hoping to reopen a historic Borders hostelry are just £7,000 short of their funding target.
The Crook Inn at Tweedsmuir, which dates back to the 17th century, was closed almost six years ago.
Owner James Doonan unsuccessfully attempted to gain permission to develop the building for housing.
The Tweedsmuir Community Group needs to raise £160,000 to buy the building by the end of the year and is now closing in on that target.
After eight months of fundraising the community group now has a running total of £153,000 with three weeks to go.
