Man in court over £2.5m Cairnryan cannabis haul

A man has appeared in court after cannabis estimated to be worth £2.5m was seized at a ferry port in south west Scotland.

The drugs were discovered in a van at the Irish Sea ferry terminal at Cairnryan on Friday.

Paul Greenhalgh, 39, from Bolton, Greater Manchester, was charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act at Stranraer Sheriff Court.

He made no plea or declaration and was bailed.
