Woman cut free from Kelso crash

A woman had to be cut free from the wreckage of her car after it crashed into a telegraph pole in the Borders.

The incident took place at New Smailholm near Kelso just before midnight on Saturday.

It is believed the car skidded on ice before crashing into the telegraph pole.

The woman was taken to Borders General Hospital where her injuries were described as not being life-threatening.
