Dumfries health centre set to open

A £6m health centre is set to open after being delayed by problems with the installation of a high-speed fibre optic cable for data and phone use.

The Lochfield Road practice in Dumfries was due to open earlier this month.

However, that had to be put on hold until the technical issues had been resolved.

The facility, which incorporates the Cairn Valley and Charlotte Street practices, is now set to open to patients from Monday.

The centre will also act as a base for the Cameron House drug and alcohol service for adults, and house the region's integrated substance services for children.
