Fairnilee House blaze put out by firefighters

About 40 firefighters have put out a "fierce" blaze at a mansion house in the Scottish Borders.

The alarm was raised at about 12:20 on Monday at Fairnilee House near Yair and a number of vehicles sent to the scene.

When crews arrived, they found a fire on the second and third floors of the detached stone building breaking through the roof space.

Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service said there were no reports of any casualties in the fire.
