Thousands of fans have taken to the Dock Park in Dumfries for the free Youth Beatz festival.

Chart act Tinchy Stryder and 2008 X Factor winner Alexandra Burke were the headliners for the event.

The festival - which calls itself "Scotland's largest free music event" - attracted 12,000 fans in 2011.

Organisers said they were confident this year's festival would be the "biggest and best Youth Beatz" since it started three years ago.

Among the previous headline acts have been Chipmunk and N-Dubz.
