Princess Royal in Melrose visit

Princess Royal The Princess Royal visited the Borders for a special service for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee

The Princess Royal has visited Melrose for a special thanksgiving service for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

She was joined at the town's parish church by about 600 invited guests.

Public viewing areas had been set up at the church and on the route to a nearby marquee.

Princess Anne arrived at the church at about 12:00 and the service was followed by a reception where she met representatives from various community groups.

During the reception she presented British Empire Medals to a number of individuals.
