Driver serious after car crash near Drummore

A driver is in a serious but stable condition in hospital after a crash in the south of Scotland.

The one-vehicle accident took place on the A716 Cornerhouse to Drummore Road, just south of Drummore, at about 20:15 on Thursday.

Police said the 20-year-old local man sustained serious facial and head injuries in the collision.

He was taken to Galloway Community Hospital before being transferred to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash to come forward.

Officers also want to hear from anyone who saw the blue Vauxhall Corsa before the incident.
