Carronbridge teenager Alan Parks named as crash victim

A teenager from Carronbridge has been named as the victim of a road accident in southern Scotland on Monday night.

Alan Parks, 18, died as a result of his injuries after being struck by a van on the A702 Dalveen Pass.

The incident happened while he was walking on the route close to his home village at about 22:00.

A statement from Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary said the procurator fiscal had been informed and enquiries were continuing into the incident.
