Dumfries Infirmary ward shut due to norovirus outbreak

A ward at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary has been closed due to an outbreak of the norovirus winter vomiting bug.

Five patients have been affected so far by the incident at ward 10 in the hospital.

An NHS Dumfries and Galloway spokesman said "appropriate infection control measures" had been put in place.

He asked anyone intending to visit patients in ward 10 to refrain from doing so for the time being.
