Torthorwald firearms raid under investigation

Police are seeking witnesses after a "high value" break-in at a house in rural Dumfries and Galloway in which firearms were taken.

The incident happen in the Torthorwald area some time between 20:00 on Thursday and 14:00 on Friday.

Police said that a "considerable sum" of money and a "number of firearms" were taken.

Anyone who saw any suspicious activity or vehicles in the area has been urged to come forward.
