Dumfries and Borders hospitals remain on virus watch

Hospital wards remain closed in Dumfries and Galloway and the Borders after outbreaks of the norovirus winter sickness bug in both regions.

One ward at the Borders General has been shut to admissions since 7 May.

Nearly 150 patients and staff have been affected by an outbreak at Dumfries Infirmary and a number of wards have been closed over the past 12 days.

Both health boards have asked people not to visit hospitals if they or a family member has virus symptoms.
