A man accused of avoiding tax and national insurance contributions has seen the alleged amount involved reduced by more than £1m.
Stephen Maxwell, 52, of Dalbeattie, was charged with avoiding paying contributions of nearly £1.75m.
However, he is now accused of evading paying a little more than £635,000 to HM Revenue and Customs.
Mr Maxwell denies the charges. His wife, Susan Maxwell, 49, was cleared of avoiding taxes earlier this week.
The trial, at Kirkcudbright Sheriff Court, is now in its fifth week.
