Dumfries and Galloway arts funding proposals drawn up

A new financial support plan has been developed following the demise of an arts organisation in Dumfries and Galloway.
Liquidators were appointed at the region-wide group dgArts last year.
The council stepped in to organise a series of consultative meetings on a new structure to take its place.
It is hoped it could have a budget of more than £450,000 a year to spend on the arts across Dumfries and Galloway in years to come.
That financial input would be split between Dumfries and Galloway Council and Creative Scotland.
A report to the local authority's policy and resources committee said the new set-up had the "full support" of the arts sector in the region.
However, it also warned that the anticipated level of Creative Scotland support would only be maximised by the implementation of the new model for the delivery of the arts.
That sees a set of arts "hubs" being created throughout the area linking into a regionwide Chamber of Arts.
