Canonbie traffic light car theft investigated

Police have launched an investigation after a 67-year-old woman had her car stolen when stopped at lights in a south of Scotland village.

The incident happened shortly after 22:00 on Saturday in Canonbie in Dumfries and Galloway.

Police said the woman was left in a "state of shock" after the theft of her silver Skoda Fabia.

The man who took the car was in his late teens or early 20s, of slim build with short hair and a Scottish accent.

The vehicle has not yet been traced.
