Fallen tree kills Drumlanrig Castle forestry worker

A forestry worker has been killed in an accident on an estate in Dumfries and Galloway.

Ross Findlay, 50, of Drumlanrig Street, Thornhill, was carrying out work at Drumlanrig Castle when the accident occurred.

A tree he was felling is understood to have collapsed on top of him.

He died at the scene of the incident, which is in the grounds of the Dumfriesshire home of the Duke of Buccleuch.
