Festivals of food and walking have got under way in Dumfries and Galloway and the Borders.
The Scottish Borders Walking Festival is one of the longest-established in the country and runs until 12 September.
It is based in Peebles but includes walks in and around Innerleithen, Walkerburn, West Linton and Selkirk.
Meanwhile, Dumfries and Galloway's Flavour Fortnight includes nearly 50 events across the region.
