Scottish independence: Post-yes childcare plan funding questioned

Plans to transform childcare in an independent Scotland are welcome but unworkable, according to the National Association of Day Nurseries.

It claims private and voluntary sector nurseries are losing an average of £1,000 per child per year on publicly funded places.

Scottish ministers said they would discuss ways to make the plan work.
