Scottish local election: Professor John Curtice on the background

Professor John Curtice of Strathclyde University has been giving his take on the local government elections which takes place on May 3.

He believes local issues will undoubtedly play their part in who wins what.

In an interview with BBC Scotland's Sunday Politics show, he added that the SNP would be looking to maintain the "quite substantial" support it recorded at the Holyrood election last year.
