It could be another week before production resumes on one of the North Sea's biggest oil fields.

Production operations in the Buzzard field, about 60 miles north east of Aberdeen, were shut down on Saturday for a drilling rig to be decoupled.

The decision to halt operations was made in a bid to take advantage of a break in weather conditions.

Operator Nexen had hoped to have the field back up and running by Tuesday but has now said it could take longer.
