A woman who falsely claimed her friend's son had raped her in Aberdeen has been jailed.
Kelly Harwood, 43, had consensual sex with the 30-year-old before making the allegation in May last year.
She later confessed that she had made it up.
Harwood admitted wasting police time and was jailed for a year at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, where Sheriff William Summers told her it was a "very serious" offence.
Sheriff Summers said it was clear that she suffered from a depressive illness, but the offence was so serious that only a custodial sentence was appropriate.
